Epidote is a brown gemstone with olive green spots. This stone is named for the Greek word “epidosis” meaning “to increase” due to the structure of the gemstone being larger at the bottom. Epidote is often found in cliffsides and mountains in Austria, Scotland, and across the United States, including Michigan, Wisconsin, and Virginia. Metaphysically, Epidote is used to balance energy and build mental strength. This stone is also believed to increase mental clarity to find purpose and direction in life.
