Apatite is a bold, deep turquoise-colored stone from the phosphate family of minerals. When designing with Apatite, we usually choose silver metals over gold, although both can complement this stone. Apatite coordinates with white gemstones such as Moonstone, Selenite, and White Opal. Pearls also complement Apatite and are often paired together in jewelry designs. Due to its resemblance to other blue gemstones, the name Apatite came from the Greek word apatate, which means “to deceive.” Most Apatite is sourced from Mexico and Brazil. Brazilian Apatite is usually found in a slightly darker color than other variations of the stone.
