Aquamarine is the birthstone for March and is a pale blue-green crystal with swirling white inclusions. This stone is a member of the Beryl family of gemstones. In jewelry design, Aquamarine coordinates best with white, clear gemstones like Moonstone, Clear Quartz, and Selenite. This stone looks great with gold or silver metals. The name aquamarine means “water of the sea.” Ancient Roman fishermen would use Aquamarine as protection on their voyages. Most Aquamarine is sourced from Brazil, although it is also found in parts of Africa.
