Hemimorphite is a chalky pale blue stone that often has white or light beige inclusions. In jewelry design, both silver and gold gemstones match well with Hemimorphite. Hemimorphite has an irregular crystal structure with a flat surface, or face, naturally occurring on the end of each stone. Most gemstone specimens occur with pointed or pyramidal structures on both sides. This unique shape leads Hemimorphite to be named for the Greek words “hemi” meaning “half” and “morph” meaning “shape.” This stone is most often sourced from China, Mexico, and the Southwestern United States.
