Dumortierite is a blue or indigo colored stone with neutral or white inclusions. This stone is most often found in Austria, France, Italy, and Canada. Dumortierite is named after paleontologist Eugene Dumortier who first categorized this stone in 1881. Metaphysically, Dumortierite is used to enhance intuition and memory. This stone is also believed to hold healing properties that boost intelligence, academic performance, and intellect.
