The Journey to Our New Space

The Cherry Tree Beads online shop started in Jenn's basement in 2007. In 2012, Jenn and Mitchell purchased Cherry Tree Beads from Bill Edwards, the founder. We had outgrown the basement and we were lucky to find a warehouse in the Biltmore area of Asheville NC. We continued to grow our inventory and soon after moving in, took over the adjoining warehouse space next door. In 2016, the building we were renting went up for sale and we became concerned about losing our space so we started looking for a new warehouse.

We soon realized that finding a reasonably priced warehouse to rent in Asheville was going to be difficult so we thought maybe now would be the time to buy. Mitchell found a fabulous realtor, Carla Barnard, and the search began. When Jenn and Mitchell first saw the building at 202 Railroad St. they recognized it's potential though it was in dire need of love. Jenn's vision and Mitchell's experience in the building industry made them the perfect match for this classic building renovation project.

After almost two years of blood, sweat, and major renovations... we moved into the warehouse and opened our beautiful new showroom in September of 2018. Griff Gamble, of River Birch Builders, was wonderful to work with and did an amazing job of bringing our vision to life. Chukk Bruursema's hand built metal sign gave the building the final touch.

2018 was a year of change and stress but we made it through and have settled into the sweet town of Swannanoa, NC, just 10 minutes from downtown Asheville and our previous location. Come see us! We are looking forward to an amazing new year and we hope you will be a part of it.
