Kunzite Beads & Pendants

Kunzite is a pale lilac gemstone with swirling white inclusions. This stone is a gem-quality variation of the Spodumene mineral which is a common source of lithium salts.

In jewelry design, Kunzite looks stunning with Moonstone, Hematite, and Quartz. Silver, gold, and rose gold metals all complement Kunzite beautifully. Kunzite is an extremely delicate gemstone, so please take caution in exposing your Kunzite to sunshine or water.

Kunzite is named for the mineralogist George Frederick Kunze who discovered the stone in San Diego, California, in 1902. Although Kunzite was first found in the United States, it has since been found worldwide. Most Kunzite today is sourced from Brazil, Afghanistan, and Madagascar

In the metaphysical community, Kunzite is used as a “heart-opener” that can soothe emotional distress and encourage a deeper connection with our softer side. This stone is considered to be emotionally healing with properties that include positive communication skills and relief from worry or overthinking.

Kunzite is pure in energy and joyful in nature. From palest pink, to light violet hues, it is a stone of emotion, connecting heart and mind, stimulating a healing communion between the two. Kunzite encourages one to release walls built around the heart. Named for the mineralogist and jeweler George Frederick Kunz who first catalogued it in 1902. It is a variety of the silicate, Spodumene, obtaining its color from minor to trace amounts of manganese. For designing purposes, it is important to note that all varieties of Kunzite fade in direct sunlight, so it is not a good choice for sun catchers or window ornaments.
