Larvikite, also known as Black Labradorite, is a dark grey stone with speckled black inclusions that often appears with blue iridescence. In jewelry design, Black Labradorite looks best with silver-toned metals and other grey or black gemstones, including Onyx, Hematite, and Black Tourmaline. Blue or grey variations of Labradorite would also compliment Black Labradorite.

Despite its similar appearance, this stone is not a true variation of Labradorite. Larvikite is named after the town of Larvik in Norway, where the stone was first discovered. Metaphysically, Black Labradorite is said to represent inner transformation and resilience during times of change.
