Aventurine is a form of quartz, and a member of the chalcedony family it is characterized by its translucency and presence of mineral inclusions that give it a shimmering effect that is called "aventurescence." The most common color of aventurine is green, but it may also be orange, brown, yellow, blue, or grey. Aventurine is known as one of the luckiest stones, and is said to attract prosperity.
