Kyanite was named for the Greek word “kyanos” meaning “dark blue.” This stone can be found worldwide, including Myanmar, Cambodia, Kenya, Nepal, Tibet, Brazil, Switzerland, Russia, and the U.S. state of Virginia. Most Kyanite gemstones are sourced from Nepal and Tibet.
