Unakite Beads & Pendants
Unakite is an autumn-toned gemstone with inclusions of olive green, burnt sienna, and warm orange. Geologically, Unakite is a metamorphosed version of granite, consisting of both quartz and feldspar minerals.
In jewelry design, gold-toned metals and brass compliment Unakite. Unakite looks best with gemstones that mirror it's autumnal color palette, including Sunstone, Green Rutilated Quartz, and Citrine.
Unakite was named after the Unakas mountain range of Western North Carolina where Unakite was first discovered. Today, Unakite is most often sourced from the mountains of North Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee. Unakite has also been found outside of the United States in South Africa, Sierra Leone, Brazil, and China.
