Chrysoprase is a soft green stone with golden brown inclusions. This stone is one of the most valuable variations of the Chalcedony mineral, getting its green color from natural inclusions of oxidized nickel. In jewelry design, Chrysoprase looks best with gold metals. We recommend pairing Chrysoprase with golden brown gemstones like Bronzite, Sunstone, or Pyrite.
Chrysoprase was named from the combination of two Greek words: “chrys” meaning gold and “prase” meaning green. Most Chrysoprase is found in Indonesia, Australia, Tanzania, and the U.S. states of Arizona and California.
In the metaphysical community, chrysoprase is used to attract love, abundance, and financial prosperity. This stone is also believed to hold healing properties that can alleviate stress and worry for a more positive, centered outlook.
